Dreamz 4 U

I mentioned earlier that we had made £200 from our Medal Presentation evening on 21 May, which was to go to a charity. I've been thinking long and hard about which charity this money should go to, and my mind was finally made up a couple of days ago when I read in the local newspaper about a teenage girl from the Buckie area, Zoe Geddes, who was diagnosed with leukeamia last year and who sadly lost her fight with the disease a few days ago.

Although I didn't know her personally, the tributes to her in the press made it clear that she was a very special person indeed who didn't complain once during her illness. She was very active and loved football and loved dancing.
One of the charities that was involved with her was Dreamz 4 U based in Dundee, who make dreams come true for sick and disabled children all over the UK. They had arranged for her to have a pampering weekend but sadly she didn't make it.

I called Dreamz 4 U this morning and they told me that £200 will go a long way and could indeed help as many as 4 children. They are very grateful for the donation. It will be used over the next couple of months and we will get feedback from them on how it was used.

Thank you again to all of you who made our Medal Presentation evening such a success!
