Caroline Coomber School of Dance
COMPETITION
Aberdeen 29 October 2017
We had a very successful competition day at Aberdeen Beach Ballroom on Sunday 29 October. We had five couples competing in this event and it has been one of our most successful competitions with four trophies being won by our Dance School. The Beach Ballroom is a beautiful venue, it feels like stepping back into the 1930s.
I am so proud of every one of our dancers today, they all did brilliantly and thank you too for all the friends and family who came along to support us. We had over thirty of us there which made the whole day extra special and exciting.
Here are our results:
Adult Open Viennese Waltz
7th – Peter Alexander & Joanne Bugden
Beginners Waltz & Quickstep
2nd – Toby MacDonald-Haig & Emily Barker
3rd – Brian Watt & Kathy McGrath-Gunn
6th – David Pickins & Annette MacKinnon
Senior Over 35's Intermediate Waltz, Foxtrot & Quickstep
1st (Betty Maitland Trophy) – Peter Alexander & Joanne Bugden
This is a very special trophy for us to have won as it was donated to the competition by our very dear friend and supporter Eddie Maitland, whose wonderful wife Betty passed away a few years ago, and it means such a lot to him that our Dance School won it.
