Caroline Coomber School of Dance

Special award for John Cunningham
Recently, our main Dance Association, United Kingdom Alliance, held their 30th Highland Gathering at Dyce. A number of us attended the celebratory dinner, including John Cunningham, my dance teacher from when I was 10 years old, and his wife Isobel.
It was an extra special evening because John was presented with a very special award by David Roberts, Chief Executive of the UKA.
The certificate reads as follows:
United Kingdom Dance
Roll of Honour
The President, Executive Council and Members wish to place on record the outstanding and meritorious services rendered by our esteemed member.
This Diploma is hereby conferred on
John Cunningham
for outstanding promotion of Ballroom Dancing in the North of Scotland.

It was a complete surprise to John and a very special moment for us all with a few tears.
I've said it before, none of us would be here in our present capacity as dancers if it wasn't for our wonderful John.
