Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a year of good health, happiness and dancing in 2020
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our fantastic Christmas Dance on Sunday 15 December. I’m sure you’ll all agree that our demonstration couple, Tibor Poc and Hilary Mouat, were just superb and gave us an amazing Ten Dance show. They loved their time here even though it was less than 24 hours and were very grateful for the hospitality, friendliness and enthusiasm shown to them by all of you. All of our demonstration dancers and examiners love coming to visit us because we always give them an amazing welcome. Thank you so much for that and for helping to promote our reputation.
Organising an event such as yesterday involves a lot of work, stress and expense and if it wasn’t for all of you supporting me, it just wouldn’t happen.
Another huge thank you for all the raffle prizes donated and for all the raffle tickets bought. You are so generous. Tibor was desperate to win a big bag of tatties and carrots in the raffle but missed out unfortunately. How he would have got them home on the train though, I have no idea! I told Tibor that I will bring him a bag when we next see them at the Falkirk competition on Sunday 5 April. They were very kindly donated by local farmer, Euan Menzies, so Euan, if I can buy a bag from you at that time to take down to him, that would be great!
The raffle raised an amazing £278 and it is to be donated to Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research) in memory of Callum Tweedie. His mum and dad, Jane and Alexander, regularly attend the classes and were in attendance yesterday (www.justgiving.com/fundraising/callum-tweedie). They too say a huge thank you to you all for your generosity.
Our medal tests as you know are on Saturday 18 January, and we are looking forward to our visit from examiner, Joan Martin. She is currently on holiday abroad but I hope to speak to her soon to finalise all the details. While she is here she will be leading a Ballroom and Latin workshop (details to follow) and we will be having a social dance on the Saturday evening.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a year of good health, happiness and dancing in 2020.
Thank you so much!
